QR codes, the plumber's way
Why plumbers get more out of QR codes than most businesses
Most businesses have to work hard to get their QR code in front of people. A plumber's code is already there: on a truck parked in the driveways of the neighbourhoods you serve, on the water heater in the basement, on the invoice on the kitchen counter. Each of those is a moment when someone might need a plumber, and the code turns it into a call.
The trick is sending each code somewhere useful. A neighbour scanning your truck wants to call or book quickly; a homeowner scanning the sticker on their water heater wants its yearly service; a customer looking at your invoice might need you again or want to pass your name on. A page built for each of those moments works far better than a code that just opens a home page.
Stickers are the plumber's quiet advantage. A water heater or a boiler outlives most fridge magnets and most phone numbers scribbled on paper. A durable sticker with your code, your name and "Scan for service" sits right where the next problem will happen, sometimes for ten years.
And because every code is yours, not a link that dies with someone else's service, you stay in control. A new phone number, a new service, a winter promotion: change where the code leads from the app, and every truck, sticker and invoice already out there follows.
