The short answer

What does a building business need online?

Nobody hands a reno or a build to a phone number. Before they call, they want proof: jobs you've finished, the kind of work you do, where you work, and an easy way to ask for a quote. Your website puts all of that in one spot and loads fast on a phone. That's where people check you out, usually standing in the room they want torn out.

It also answers the questions before your phone rings. What you take on and what you don't. Whether you pull the permits. How a job goes with you, from the first walk-through to the last sweep. Every answer on your page is one less call that goes nowhere, and the people who do call already know what they're getting.

Your truck and your card get you noticed. Your page is where people make up their mind. So it should look like your work: solid, clean and finished. For general contractors, builders and renovation companies, here is what that looks like: websites for contractors.

Professions

Who we build for in contractors and builders

Construction Companies

Bigger contracts go to outfits that look like they've been around. Your page shows finished projects by type, your crew and how long you've been building, and gives owners and developers an easy way to ask for a bid.

General Contractors

People hire a GC so they don't have to run the job themselves. Your page shows the kinds of jobs you run, the trades you bring in and how you keep things on schedule. The quote form lets them describe the job and send photos or plans.

Home Renovation Companies

Reno clients buy with their eyes. Kitchens, bathrooms and basements, before and after, do most of the selling. So your page leads with those, then lists the rooms you do and the area you cover.

Before we build it

What goes on your contractor page

You don't write any of it. Tell us, send a few photos, and we put it together. Here's what we'll ask you about.

  1. Jobs you've finished, in photos

Real jobs beat stock photos every time. Before-and-after shots from the same spot work best. Your phone is all you need.

  2. What you take on, and what you don't

Spell out the work: additions, kitchens, decks, basements, commercial fit-outs. Saying what you don't do saves you calls you'd turn down anyway.

  3. Where you work

List the towns and areas you cover. People nearby know you'll come out, and people too far away don't waste your time.

  4. Licence, insurance and warranty

Licensed? Insured? Stand behind your work? Say it straight. Careful clients check that before they let a crew into the house.

  5. How a job goes

A short rundown: walk-through, estimate, permits, schedule, cleanup. A big job feels a lot less risky when people know what's coming.

  6. A quote form that gets the details

Address, what kind of job, rough timing and photos. You get a request you can actually price, right in your email.

  7. Who you are

A photo of you or your crew, and a couple of lines on how long you've been at it. People hire people, especially for work inside their home.

QR codes on the job

Where QR codes work for contractors

Every plan comes with your QR code, ready to print. The Business Showcase lets you make as many as you want and shows how many scans each one gets, so you know which sign is bringing in the calls.

Facebook and Instagram

Good forPosting progress shots and keeping in touch with past clients.

Leaves outOld jobs get buried in the feed, and not everybody's on there or wants to message you.

Directories and lead sites

Good forPicking up a few leads when you're starting out.

Before you ask

What contractors ask us

Do I need a full website, or is a digital business card enough?

If most of your work comes from word of mouth and you just want something better than a paper card, the Digital Business Card does the job: your photo, your buttons, a quote form and a photo grid. If you want to show up when people search, show jobs by type and cover a few towns, go with the Business Showcase. That's a full site with a gallery and a blog.

I don't have good photos of my work. Can you still build it?

Sure. We can start with photos of you, your crew and your truck, and add jobs as you finish them. On the Business Showcase and the Video Hub, you can add them yourself from your phone with the QRaway app.

Can clients send me photos and plans with a quote request?

Yes. The form takes photos and files. Every request lands in your email with everything they sent.

Can my page show the areas I cover?

Yes. We list your towns and areas on your page. On the Business Showcase, each service or area can get its own page, which helps people in that town find you.

Who writes the text?

We do. You tell us what you build and where, and we write it the way your clients search for it. You look over the free draft and tell us what to change, in your own words, up to two rounds.

How much does it cost, and when do I pay?

The Digital Business Card is $99 a year. The Business Showcase is $299 a year. We build a free draft first. You only pay if you like it, and then it goes live. If you want your own domain name, you buy that separately.

See your page before you pay anything.
