An experimental gaming portal with 1001 Flash games

In 2005, we launched Playing.Ru, a gaming portal featuring a collection of 1001 free Flash games.

Each game had its own page with description and could be played directly in the browser — all integrated with our community system.

Features and highlights

🎮 A catalog of 1001 Flash games, each with its own playable page.
📝 Descriptions and info for every game.
💬 Integrated with our forum engine for comments, ratings, and discussions.
🔗 Connected to our forum ecosystem, later separated onto its own domain.
🗂️ Built entirely on our CMS + vBulletin integration.

Why it mattered

Playing.Ru was less about business and more about experimenting with new directions.

It extended our forum ecosystem into the gaming space, giving users both a place to play and a community to discuss games.

While the portal itself never became a major traffic driver, it represented an early experiment in entertainment-focused web platforms, foreshadowing later trends in casual gaming portals.
