WWII MemoryA pro bono WWII remembrance site for German organizers

WWII Memory (2006) was a front-end web project built for German organizers, cataloging charities and databases related to WWII victims. Delivered almost pro bono.

Contributing to international remembrance

In 2006, we worked on the project “In Memory of WWII Victims”, initiated by German organizers as a catalog of charitable organizations and databases connected to the legacy of the Second World War.

Our role was to deliver the site’s front-end template (“skin”), while the content and data were managed by the organizers themselves. The project was completed for a symbolic fee, effectively making it a pro bono contribution.

Features and highlights

  • 📑 Concept: a catalog of charities and organizations dedicated to WWII remembrance.

  • 🗂️ Planned inclusion of surname databases and historical materials.

  • 🎨 Delivered the visual and structural shell of the portal.

  • 🇩🇪 Built for German partners, marking an early international collaboration.

  • ❓ The project’s later development is unknown to us.

Why it mattered

Though simple in scope, this project carried weight beyond technology.

It reflected our readiness to contribute to socially meaningful, cross-border initiatives, even when the work was mostly symbolic.

👉 “WWII Memory” remains an example of how our projects extended beyond commerce, into cultural remembrance and international cooperation.
