F-One reborn as Automotosport

In 2004, the F-One portal entered a new phase of its life when it was formally sold to a long-time motorsport partner and rebranded as Automotosport.ru.

For the audience, this looked like a new beginning, but in reality we continued to manage and evolve the platform.

Features and highlights

🎨 Updated design with a stretchable interface for modern screens.
📰 News system rewritten in JavaScript, improving load speed.
💬 Forum remained on the original F-One.ru domain, but the database was separated.
🔗 Developed an XML-based import/export system for “hot topics” between the forum and the site.
⏳ Automotosport.ru lived on for several years before eventually returning to the F-One name.

Why it mattered

Automotosport.ru represented the evolution and resilience of the F-One project.

Through rebranding and technical restructuring, the platform adapted to new requirements while keeping its strong community and database alive.

It was both a technical milestone — with XML integration across domains — and a natural chapter in the long life of F-One.
